25 infants die in four days in Bengal

After a short interval, crib deaths continue to haunt West Bengal with 10 babies dying at the Malda Medical College and Hospital since Monday. A total of 25 infants have died in the last four days. The parents of the babies blamed the hospital’s “negligence” whereas the hospital authorities claimed that the babies were in a serious condition.

This hospital had reported a staggering count of 100 infant deaths in January earlier this year. The state government is planning to add more beds to the Malda hospital.
