BALRAMPUR (UP): Two minor girls were seriously injured in an acid attack by two youth in Panchpedva area of the district, police said today.

Last night two persons barged into the house of one Samullah and threw acid on his two daughters.

The elder daughter, who was 16-year-old, has suffered serious injuries and was rushed to district hospital, police said.

"Both the accused, identified as Narsigh Yadav and Sahbe Yadav have been arrested," Assistant Superintendent of Police G N Khanna said.

Eve teasing and opposition by the girls to it was stated to be the cause of the incident, Khanna said.
