NEW DELHI: Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi on Tuesday denied that that he had written a letter to Congress President Sonia Gandhi expressing his desire to resign from the Union Cabinet.

"There is no truth in the story. I have not met the Congress president. I am happy with the job I have. Party made me the minister. I have not written any letter," he said.

He also made it clear that he visited Andhra Pradesh as Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad could not go. "I never met Sonia and never talked about it," he said.

Sources have said that the Congress is set for a major reshuffle with several senior ministers writing to party President Sonia Gandhi saying they want to be relieved of their portfolios and work for the party. The ministers include Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh, Health and Family Welfare Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, Law & Justice and Minority Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid and Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi.
