SRINAGAR: Security forces today unearthed a militant hideout in the forest area of Handwara in Kupwara in north Kashmir, recovering arms and ammunition, police said.

"Police and Army in a joint operation recovered arms and ammunition in the forest area near Safapora in Kralgund area of Handwara," a police spokesman said.

He said the recoveries included a Chinese Pistol, four under barrel grenade launchers, two Pistol Magazines, two Pika magazines, two IED boxes, three radio sets with antenna, two IED circuits, 9 rounds of Pika ammunition, 210 rounds of AK-47 and one pouch.

Police has registered a case in this regard, he added.
