Illicit liquor has claimed 11 lives in a village in Punjab's Gurdaspur district, police said Tuesday.
The victims belonged to Johal Nangal village near Batala town, 250 km from here.
At least 15 others who had also consumed the liquor Monday night were admitted to a Batala hospital in serious condition.
Residents of the affected village staged a protest, denouncing the administration for not taking any steps to control the illegal manufacture of liquor.
