A powerful bomb hidden in a bagwas found near the National Highway 37 in Assam's Goalparadistrict today, police sources said.
Security personnel found the bomb during patrol atHaldapara adjacent to NH 37 under Goalpara police stationclose to the area where a bomb exploded on July 31 killing anarmy man and injuring six others.
According to intelligence reports, a group of sevenULFA militants have entered the district to carry outsubversive activities in the run up to the Independence Day,the sources added.
