With UP Chief Secretary Javed Usmani, who has been on leave for the last 15 days, deciding to extend his leave of absence by another week, the state capital is agog with rumours that the top bureaucrat is planning to return to Delhi.

Apparently, Usmani has been unhappy with the state’s political system and hence he wants to go back to Delhi from where he had been persuaded to come to Lucknow as the Chief Secretary after the Akhilesh Yadav-led Samajwadi Party Government assumed office on March 15. Previously, Usmani served as Principal Secretary to then Chief Minister, Mulayam Singh Yadav in 2003-07 and he has good vibes with the SP top brass.
