Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid AnsariWednesday met leaders of parties in the house to resolve the stalemate over thebill for reservations in promotions, sources said.
They said the meeting was held before the house met for the day Wednesdaymorning.
The upper house has seen repeated disruptions over the bill following stiffopposition from the Samajwadi Party. The Bahujan Samaj Party has been demandingthat the bill be passed at the earliest.
The constitution amendment bill seeks to provide reservation in promotions toScheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
