NEW DELHI: BJP MP Tarun Vijay on Monday met Defence Minister A K Antony to express his party’s unhappiness over dropping an officer from Arunachal Pradesh from the delegation to China and said “this has set a bad precedent”. “This would be exploited by the neighbouring country in future,” Vijay told Antony.
“By sending a delegation to China without an officer from Arunachal, we have given that country a point for the future that Indian Government itself drops the officer from Arunachal,” the BJP said in a statement.
While rejecting the Chinese claims on Arunachal, Antony reportedly stated that it was felt that a smaller delegation should be sent to continue the talks.
The Defence Minister reportedly said that he would consider the point in future.
