NEW DELHI: Officials posted in the CBI’s anti-corruption and economic offences units have cornered the maximum number of medals announced for distinguished and meritorious services on the eve of the Republic Day on Wednesday. Last year, the CBI on the directions of a court cracked several high-profile corruption and economic offences, including the 2G scam. Among the 24 medal winners is Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) S S Giri, who is probing into instances of illegal mining in Karnataka.    In the category of Presidents’ Police Medal for distinguished service are: Rajiv Kumar Tandon, IPS, Joint Director (Admn.), CBI, New Delhi, Prabodh Kumar, IPS, Joint Director (AC HQ), CBI, New Delhi, N P Rajeevakshan, SP, CBI, Anti- Corruption Branch (ACB), Chennai, Karnail Singh, Addl SP, CBI, SCB, Chandigarh, Jagdish Prasad, Inspector, CBI, SU, New Delhi, Late Shri Raj Kishore Singh, ASI, CBI, HQ, New Delhi. In the category of Police Medal for Meritorious Service are: S K Palsania, IPS, DIG, CBI, ACB, New Delhi, Binita Thakur, IPS, DIG, CBI, Economic Offence Wing (EOW)-III, New Delhi, Narasimha N Komar, IPS, DIG, CBI, BS&FC, Bangalore and K M Varkey, Addl SP, CBI, SU, Chennai etc .
