TMC chief Mamata Banerjee slammed Rajya Sabha MP Sukhendu Shekhar Roy for attending UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi’s luncheon.
TMC sources say that Sukhendu, along with TMC Rajya Sabha MP K D Singh, was not supposed to attend the July 18 luncheon.
On Thursday, Mamata lashed out at Sukhendu in front of a few TMC MLAs and MPs for not taking the party’s permission to attend the luncheon. He had not consulted Mamata before attending the get-together at Ashoka Hotel in New Delhi.
Didi also rebuked him for not being here on July 18 when all party MLAs and MPs had been specifically asked to be in the city to cast their votes for the Presidential polls on Thursday.
Mamata was also heard berating Sukhendu for being in touch with UPA Presidential nominee Pranab Mukherjee. She reiterated that the TMC would continue to oppose anti-people policies proposed by the Congress even though the party had backed Mukherjee’s candidature.
