Meira calls all-party meet

Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar has convened an all-party meeting on Wednesday, ahead of Parliament’s upcoming winter session,  to discuss with the floor leaders of various parties the issues they wish to raise and to ensure the smooth functioning of the Lower House.

The meeting which is scheduled for Wednesday noon is likely to be attended by Leader of  the House in the Lok Sabha, Sushilkumar Shinde;Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj; JD(U) chief Sharad Yadav and CPI leader Gurudas Dasgupta, among others.  The move by the Chair assumes significance in the wake of the assertion by Opposition parties to raise the issue of FDI in multi-brand retail.  ENS
