"These are irrelevant questions. It's all smoke." This was how Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi todaydescribed speculation about his becoming the Prime Minister and getting marriedwhile addressing business barons of the country.
"I got press guys asking when you are getting married. Somebody elsesaying, boss, when are you going to be the Prime Minister. Somebody saying, noyour are not going to be PM, somebody say may be you will be PM. There is goodpossibility."
"It is like the American polling charts. 47.3 per cent of possibility thathe might be Prime Minister...The only relevant question in this country is howcan we give our people voice?" he said addressing the Annual General Bodymeeting of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) here.
Earlier on one occasion this year, Rahul has said that it was a "wrongquestion" to ask about him becoming the Prime Minister.
His comments came days after Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh soughtto pitch for the Gandhi scion for the top post, saying the current arrangementof a separate party chief and Prime Minister has not worked.
Congress rejected Singh's contention saying the equation between Prime MinisterManmohan Singh and party president Sonia Gandhi was an ideal model that cancontinue for future.
