‘Too early to jump into conclusions’

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has confirmed that the blast outside the Karnataka BJP office in Bangalore on Wednesday was indeed a terror strike, which was triggered by a low-intensity improvised explosive device (IED). Home Ministry officials, however, said it was too early to attribute the incident to any particular terror outfit. Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde said the Centre would investigate the terror attack.  “Too much of coincidence that it was the third anniversary of the Chinnaswamy Stadium blast. It is suspected that IED was used in the explosion, but we don’t yet know which terrorist group carried out the blast,” officials said.

Meanwhile, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs R P N Singh said the NIA and the Karnataka Police had started the probe into the blast.  “We are waiting for the full report. Terrorism is a world phenomenon and all countries have to fight it united. We need to be vigilant and help each other,” he said.
