AP, Karnataka bag laurels for e-governance

Andhra Pradesh has bagged two national awards for e-Governance in 2012-2013, which will be formally presented to the winners at the two-day National Conference on e- Governance that gets under way in Jaipur on Monday.

The awards are given in seven different categories concerning various aspects of e-Governance, including the best Government to Government (G2G), Government of Citizen (G2C)and Government to Business (G2B) initiatives.

AP has picked up the silver “EPIMRS” for the innovative use of the ICT by the PSUs for customer benefits,with the honour going to the IT wing of the Eastern Power Distribution Company.

And AP has got the bronze for IT-enabled services in Gurukulam institutions,with APTWREIS (The Tribal Welfare Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh, bagging the laurel.

Neighbouring Karnataka, meanwhile, has got the silver for excellence in Government Process Re-engineering.
And the award given for transformation of mineral and administration through e-Governance has been picked up by the Department of Mines and Geology, Government of Karnataka.
