In a bizarre incident, a trainee nun has alleged gangrape by her cousin and his friends from Brahnigaon area in Kandhamal district. According to an FIR lodged by the nun at Brahmanigaon police station, she was kidnapped, kept at several places and repeatedly raped.
Her cousin Jotindra Sobhasundarand and his friend Tukuna Sobhasundar have been nabbed. According to Kandhamal SDPO Vishal, the nun, on way back from Chennai on July 5, was received at Berhampur railway station by her cousin.
She had no reason to suspect her cousin and accompanied him to their village Minzapanka under Bramhanigaon police station. But she was taken to unidentified places and allegedly raped. On July 11, they took the victim to Berhampur railway station and left her with a threat to quieten her. But the girl managed to reach Bramhanigaon police station on Saturday and lodged a complaint.
