Additional Chief Secretary of Haryana government’s Renewable Energy Department Harbaksh Singh died on Wednesday after falling from a staircase.
Singh, who was staying in Sector 15, Gurgaon, apparently fell from the staircase in the wee hours of Wednesday and suffered serious head injuries. He was rushed to the civil hospital where he was declared dead.
Singh, 56, was an IAS officer of 1981 batch. He is survived by his wife Reshma Singh and sons Vikarmaditya and Sangeshwar. According to family sources, the funeral would be held on Thursday at Noorpur village in Jallandhar. Haryana IAS Officers’ Association has expressed grief over the demise of Singh. In a condolence meeting held here on Wednesday, Chief Secretary P K Chaudhery said that Singh was an intelligent officer and a great friend. He was an extremely pleasant personality,” he added.
