'Sankalp' rally of BJP to begin today

The BJP is sparing no efforts in ensuring it makes a strong statement at the party’s ‘Sankalp Rally’ set to be held at Madhopur, on the border between Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday. The rally assumes significance as it will be Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s maiden visit to Punjab after his nomination as in-charge of the BJP’s 2014 Lok Sabha poll campaign.

State BJP president Kamal Sharma told reporters that Modi will be participating in a function dedicated to the said “in this rally, Modi would participate in a function dedicated to martyr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee and also formally inaugurate the party’s campaign for the 2014 polls. Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal would also take part in the function.”
