In a bid to neutralise the Congress’ attack on the BJP over corruption, the saffron party on Friday, the last day of public campaigning, released a booklet highlighting the scams of the UPA Government at the Centre.
BJP national general secretary H N Ananth Kumar released the booklet titled ‘100, Still Not Out! - UPA Scams’ that highlights 100 major scams, including the Coalgate, 2G Spectrum, Adarsh Housing, the CWG among others.
“The Congress leaders are accusing the BJP government of damaging Karnataka’s image. But it was India’s image that has taken a beating because of the corrupt Congress-led rule at the Centre,” Kumar said while pegging the total loss due of the scams at `5.5 lakh crore.
The BJP leader also took the Congress to task for carrying out a negative campaign for the May 5 Assembly elections.
“They went on highlighting the corruption in the BJP government. But we (BJP) sought vote on the achievements of the BJP government”, Kumar added.
