In a bid to ratchet up the party’s fund drive, which had got bogged down, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)has pulled out all the stops, including launching a mobile application, holding Google Hangouts with overseas Indians and organising fund raisers.
Until now, the party has collected only `12 crore in donations and would need somewhere around `150-200 crore for the Lok Sabha elections. It has been widely using social networking sites, mainly Facebook and Twitter, to encourage people to donate generously for ‘a corruption-free India’. The mobile application ‘Aap ka Dhan’ launched by the AAP will help the party volunteers to collect money from donors during the door-to- door campaign, election rallies, road shows and at any public place and in return the donor will receive an SMS confirming its receipt.
