Former Dacoit Campaigns for BJP

Even to the uninitiated, Daku Malkhan Singh-- whose name sparked dread in the then dacoit-infested Chambal Valley in  the 1970s-- poses an intimidating figure with his trademark  enormous twirled moustache, vermilion mark on the forehead and  aviator sun glasses. And the notorious bandit,71, had more than 100 cases of murder and dacoity against him, when he surrendered before the then MP Chief Minister, the late Arjun Singh in 1982.  Now, a BJP supporter Malkhan is busy seeking votes for state BJP chief Narendra Singh Tomar, who is contesting from  Gwalior. He said that the poor continued to get a raw deal and it had prompted him to  join the BJP. “That is why I am campaigning for the BJP. Even so many years after the country gained Independence, nothing has changed and things will not change until the BJP comes to power at the Centre,” he said.
