Jawan Injured in Mine Blast Along LoC in Jammu and Kashmir

A soldier was injured Sunday when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.

JAMMU:  An army jawan was injured in a mine blast along the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

An own mine had drifted from the area along the LoC in Nangi Tikri forward area of Krishna Gati sector of Poonch, and a jawan stepped on it resulting in a blast today morning, Public Relations Officer, Defence said.

In the blast one jawan was injured and has been shifted to the Military Hospital for treatment, he said, adding that the area has been cordoned and sanitisation was in progress.

The injured person is stable, the PRO said.
