MUMBAI: Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray has changed his tone after his party joined Devendra Fadnavis-led BJP Government in Maharashtra.
Uddhav, who had earlier called the government “insensitive” over the issue of drought-hit farmers, has now praised it for reaching out to them.
“The state government has surely taken some definite steps to tackle drought condition in some regions of the state. Even places such as Nashik, which was hit by hailstorm, has been promised help,” he said in Nagpur on Thursday.
Uddhav said the Sena was working to ensure that drought-affected farmers get the help that they were promised. “Helping them would mean the government is helping itself,” he said.
