Govt Approves Proposals Worth Rs 3500 Crore for AIR, DD

Government to Provide Rs.75 crore Annual Grant to Cachar Paper Mill

The government Friday approved an annual grant of Rs.75 crore to Cachar Paper Mill (CPM) in Assam to meet the transportational cost of the unit.

According to the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), which met here, cost of transportation to and from CPM is much higher compared to other competing paper mills due to poor rail and road network.

Rs 597 Crore Scheme for Health Research

As per the proposal of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and approved by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, 2,585 fellowships would be provided grants for training in India and abroad and development of 1,694 research projects by the trainees during the 12th Plan period (2012–17).
