IGP Discusses Amarnath Yatra Security

JAMMU: Jammu police chief called on General Officer Commanding in Chief (GoC-in-C), Northern Command, Lt Gen H S Hooda and discussed security setup on Amarnath yatra with him.

Rajesh Kumar, Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone today called on GOC-in-C, Northern Command Lt Gen H S Hooda, and held detailed discussion on various security aspects, including forthcoming Amarnathji yatra this year, a police spokesman said here.

Subsequently a meeting was also held by IGP, Jammu Zone with District Police Officers and Commandants of CRPF regarding security measures on Amarnathji Yatra 2014, particularly security of lodging centres, Langers, yatra stop points and aspects related to deal with rescue operations, he said.

Besides crime review of entire district Udhampur was also conducted with more emphasis on the preventive aspects of policing with particular emphasis on road accident and drug addiction, the spokesman said.
