NSG Team in Goa to Defuse Bombs Found at Blast Site

A team of National Security Guard (NSG) arrived in Goa today to defuse the bombs found at the site of low intensity blast that left one person dead on Thursday, a senior police officer said.

"The team has arrived and will defuse the bombs, which were found in a hut, where the blast had occurred yesterday in which one person was killed," Deputy Inspector General of Police O P Mishra told PTI here today.

One person was killed and three others were seriously injured when a crude bomb went off triggering a low intensity blast yesterday. The incident had taken place when the bomb was being prepared allegedly for poaching of wild boars, police had said.

Around 30 bombs had been recovered from the hut.

However, since the local bomb disposal squad could not defuse the bombs, the NSG team was roped in.

Police sources stated that these bombs, stuffed with gelatin powder, are usually planted in forest areas to poach wild boars.
