Delhi Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung asked the babus to make the hospital environment patient friendly, and to go for field visits without any fail.

The Principal Secretary (Health) informed Jung about the problems in the 36 government-run hospitals in the city. Following the reports, Jung directed the PWD, municipal corporations, and hospital authorities, to make the hospital environment patient friendly. “A mechanism should be drawn up with PWD to reduce the local faults, especially in critical areas like operation theatres. The municipal corporations should take care of cleanliness and horticulture,” he added.

He also said that the bureaucrats must go for field visits regularly, and weekly report should be sent without fail.  “Officers in Secretariat should also visit their field offices, and appropriate action should be taken on issues noticed during these visits. Wherever subordinates are found to be not discharging their duties properly, accountability should be fixed, and stringent action should be taken,” Jung said in a statement.
