BSF Recovers 245 kg Heroin This Year

Over 245 kg of heroin has been recovered along the India-Pakistan border this year, Border Security Force (BSF) officials said Wednesday.

"BSF has recovered 2 kg heroin near border outpost (BOP) at Panjgrain in Gurdaspur sector, 275 km from here, Tuesday night," a BSF spokesman said.

The total heroin seizure is said to be worth Rs.1,225 crore in the international market.

In April, 94 kg heroin, valued at about Rs.470 crore, was recovered in the Punjab border sector, where the seizure of heroin last year (2013) was 322 kg.
