KOLKATA: The West Bengal BJP wants two of its newly-elected party MPs from the state to be accommodated in the Union Cabinet to be headed by Narendra Modi.

Modi, who will be sworn in as Prime Minister on Monday, is yet to name his Cabinet members. State BJP president Rahul Sinha on Wednesday said: “We certainly want our two elected MPs to be included in the Union Cabinet. But, the final decision rests with Modiji.”

While BJP MP from Asansol, Babul Supriyo, is almost certain of a Cabinet berth, there are some ‘tactical problems’ plaguing S S Ahluwalia, who was elected from Darjeeling with the support of the Gorkha Janamukti Morcha (GJM).  Supriyo, caught Modi’s attention during his public meeting in Asansol. He is likely to be made a Minister of State and might be given the youth welfare affairs portfolio.
