Election Commission Employee Arrested

NEW DELHI: A 22-year-old employee of Election Commission of India was arrested for opening fire outside the residence of a girl, with whom he was obsessed.             

Police said that the accused has been identified as Vishal Chikara and recovered .32 bore pistol and two live cartridges from his possession.     

According to police, Chikara, arrested by Crime Branch yesterday, worked with the Election Commission of India.     

"Chikara along with his friends intercepted the mother of the girl and misbehaved with her on February 1 this year as her parents opposed his attempts to befriend their daughter. On February 4 also, Chikara and his friends went to the house of the girl and fired thrice and fled the spot," said a senior police officer.   

Officer said that they got information that a person possessing illegal firearm was coming towards Rithala area. police laid a trap and arrested him.
