Four Arrested for Sending Threat SMS to Jharkhand DGP

Four persons, including an advocate, were arrested for allegedly sending an SMS to Jharkhand Director General of Police threatening to kill him and the state Chief Minister.

JAMSHEDPUR: Four persons, including an advocate, were arrested for allegedly sending an SMS to Jharkhand Director General of Police threatening to kill him and the state Chief Minister.

The arrests were made from Laxminagar Zone 3 of the police station area last night, police sources said.

The arrested persons included an advocate Sudhir Kumar Thakur and his neighbour Gunjan Kumar, they said.

Jharkhand DGP Rajeev Kumar had received the SMS on May 28 from the Telco police station area warning him to stop anti-naxal operations or he would be eliminated along with Chief Minister Hemant Soren.

'Rajeev Kumar DGP stop naxal operation or I kill U and Ur CM Hemant Soren,' the sms on Kumar's mobile phone had said.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren was scheduled to return tonight from a private visit to Vaishno Devi and Kullu-Manali with his family.
