Power Supply Restored in Jammu After 70 Hours

After remaining in darkness for 70 hours, power supply was restored in some parts of Jammu city where electricity lines were snapped by strong winds on Wednesday.

JAMMU: After remaining in darkness for 70 hours, power supply was restored in some parts of Jammu city where electricity lines were snapped by strong winds on Wednesday.

Several parts of Jammu city including Talab Tiloo, Bohri, Udhaywala, Hazuribagh, Gole belt and dozen of villages plunged into darkness and nearly one lakh were affected in these areas.

"Power supply was restored around 1750 hours today in these areas," a senior official of Power Development Department said.

Strongs gusts damaged electricity poles with wires literally on the roads. Residents also launched protests in Talab Tilloo village and raised anti-government slogans, demanding immediate restoration of power supply.
