Six Accused in Burdwan Blast Held

GUWAHATI: The Assam Police have arrested six people in connection with the recent blast in West Bengal’s Burdwan town. The arrests were made from the state’s Barpeta district on Thursday night based on the leads given by West Bengal Police. “They have got links with (terror group) Jamat-ul-Mujahideen of Bangladesh. Some of them have also underwent training,” Assam’s Director General of Police Khagen Sharma told Express. “We will get to know more about them after interrogation,” he said.The accused were on Friday produced in a court which sent them to 14 days police remand. Two of them were said to be aged 73 and 80.
