Special Aid for Hudhud-hit AP, Odisha

NEW DELHI: The tourism ministry on Friday assured the two cyclone-hit states--Andhra Pradesh and Odisha--that it will provide special assistance for restoration of government tourist facilities destroyed in the recent calamity.

Union Tourism Minister  Shripad Naik said that the government has announced a special financial package for the restoration and reconstruction of the affected government tourist facilities. “This financial support will be over and above the infrastructure development projects prioritized for grant of central financial assistance to the states during the current financial year,” an official said.

The ministry has even written to the state governments, advising them to assess the extent of damage caused.
