18 Injured in Separate Incidents Clashes in UP

ETHA: Around 18 people were injured in separate incidents of clashes between various groups here.

In the first incident, a clash broke out between two families in Nidholi village yesterday over allegations of stealing gold ornaments. As per the complaint filed by Surender, Ganga Prasad and his associates stole gold from the complainant's house. The victim claimed that he, his wife Arunadevi and their children Parveen, Yogesh, Akhilesh and Sangeeta were attacked by the group led by Prasad, police said.

Nine persons were injured in the clash, including three from the side of Prasad, they said. In the second incident, five people were injured in Athaiya village yesterday when two groups clashed with each other. The injured have been identified as Sarnam Singh, his son Narayan singh, Jagveer, Raghuveer and Narendar.

A case has been filed in the connection, police said. In the third incident, two groups pelted stones at each other and indulged in lathi charging at Awagarh village yesterday, they said.

Four people, namely Shyamveer, Bhola, Jugendra and Vikram were injured in the incident. The injured have been admitted to a hospital and a case filed in the incident, police said. No arrests have been made in the incidents, they added.
