JAIPUR: A mobile phone, camera and 5,000 Yen were today recovered from the main accused in the rape case of a Japanese girl, police said.

The items were recovered the items following interrogation of the key accused Ajit Singh Choudhary and seven others, IG Police Jaipur Range D C Jain said.

Ajit alias Jeetram had broken the phone's sim card after the rape and had handed it over along with the money and the phone to his accomplice, police said.

The motorcycle used during the crime was also recovered from the other accused, Ravindra Singh, who is in police custody, he said, adding, a gift which was given by the victim to Ajit's relative at the house of another accused, Shivraj, was also recovered.

The main accused in the Japanese tourist rape case had surrendered before the police on February 13 and later he was arrested by the Dudu police.

Rajasthan Police had announced a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh for any information about Ajit.

On February 10, seven persons, namely Vahid, Abrar, Shivraj, Rajveer, Ramveer, Ravindra and Dharamveer, were detained in connection with the case. The next day they were remanded to police custody by a local court.

The seven accused were identified by the victim, police said, adding, a case under relevant sections of IPC has been registered against them and Ajit.

The 25-year-old Japanese girl was allegedly raped by an Indian youth at a deserted place near Dudu, a suburban town in Jaipur, on February 8 night.

The victim had come to Pink city as a tourist and was visiting Jal Mahal when the youth, aged about 25 years, lured her on the pretext of taking her sight-seeing.
