Sharma, Som, Siddiqui Violated Rules in Noida

Noida:Minister of State for Tourism and Culture Mahesh Sharma controversial BJP MLA Sangeet Som and BSP leader Naseemuddin Siddiqui have been found violating section 144 in Bishada, Greater Noida the police said.

The Noida police on Tuesday sent a detailed report to the district administration with recordings of the public meetings held by party leaders when they came to see the family of Mohmmad Iqlaq last week.

The section which prohibits an assembly of more than ten people in an area was in force while the leaders addressed the villagers.

“All the three held public meeting in the village after the District Magistrate prohibited to do so. The report has been sent to the ( Sub-Divisional Magistrate) SDM, now the court will decide what to do” Anurag Singh DSP Dadri told Express.

Visiting the bereaved family of Iqlaq and to share the burden of their grief might have not been such a good idea as the report has recommended filing of First Information Report (FIR) against Som, Siddiqui and Sharma under section 188(Disobedience) IPC.

The action follows after DM Gautam Budhh Nagar N.P.Singh had sought explanation from the ADM and SDM as to how people were allowed to assemble and hold meetings when Section 144 is in force.

“The leaders were given permission only to meet the family of the victim and not for addressing public meetings in view of the sensitive situation prevailing in the area” said Superintendent of Police (Rural) Sanjay Kumar Yadav.

Som, MLA from Muzaffarnagar, is already in the news as he had said earlier that they were capable of giving a "befitting reply" if "innocents were framed" in the lynching case.

He had also attacked AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi for visiting, who said the incident was “pre-planned”. And accused BJP for indulging in polarisation of politics. Sharma, who met the injured son of the deceased Mohmmad Danish in the hospital addressed the villagers upon his visit to Bishada saying that the incident was an unfortunate “accident” and that “all happened because of misunderstanding." Sharma represents Gautam Budh Nagar in Lok Sabha, has made a few visits to the victim's house and has been attacking political rivals over the incident.

District Magistrate N P Singh had said earlier that he was taking legal opinion on what action could be taken on the statements made by Som. Mohammad Ikhlaq, 55, was killed by a mob a week ago over rumour that the family had slaughtered a calf and eaten its meat. Meanwhile 24-year-old Jay Praksh was found dead at his house, heightening tension in the village after his family alleged that he was facing police harassment following the lynching of Iqlaq over beef rumour.

As many of the neighbors of Iqlaq are being rounded up by the police Prakash’s home is just a stone throw away. the police has denied allegations about raiding houses and spreading any kind of terror.
