Two Naxals Killed in Gunbattle With Cops in Raipur

RAIPUR: Two naxals, including a woman cadre, were today killed in an exchange of fire by police in the naxal-hit Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh today.

Bijapur District Superintendent of Police K L Dhruv said that the two Ultras were killed in gun-battle with police in Pusnar village area under Gangalur police station limit this morning. "The police team had gone to the interior parts of the Gangalur for anti-naxal operations. When the team was in the forested area surrounding Pusnar village, the Naxals started firing at the policemen. The police launched a retaliatory attack, following which the ultras escaped from the scene," Dhruv said.

During the search conducted by police personnel later at the site, the bodies of the two Naxalites were found. Police also recovered a weapon and some other Naxal material from the site.
