CHHATISGARH: Maoists badly damaged a newly-constructed road in Chhattisgarh on Sunday, disrupting vehicular movement and causing hardship to commuters.
The rebels dug up the road in Bijapur district at various places. A vehicle stuck in one of the pits led to severe traffic jam.
They also pasted a pamphlet on a tree asking the government to halt anti-Maoists operations in the province.
"We have got information that Maoists have damaged a road to disrupt vehicular movement. We have sent police force to restore transportation," said police inspector, Rajesh Joshi.
