Child Injured in Crude Bomb Explosion in Kolkata

KOLKATA: A three-year-old child was injured when a crude bomb exploded inside a sewerage pipe kept beside a road in Tala Park area of the city this morning.

"A toddler sustained injury in the explosion and has been taken to state-run R G Kar Medical College and Hospital. Doctors are treating him," a senior police officer said. The incident happened at around 9.25 AM when the crude bomb exploded inside a pipe kept by the side of the road at the crossing of Tarashankar Sarani and Khelat Babu Lane in Tala Police Station area.

A probe has been initiated, the police officer said.
