Congress Protests MPs' Suspension Before Gandhi Statue at Parliament

The Congress MPs were seen wearing black bands in their arms as a sign of the protest.

NEW DELHI: The Congress party members reached the Gandhi statue in the Parliament premises today to protest the suspension of the party’s lawmakers by Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan.

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh also joined the protests. The Congress MPs were seen wearing black bands in their arms as a sign of the protest.

The Trinamool Congress (TMC), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and other party MPs will also assemble at the Gandhi Statue to protest the suspension.

The Trinamool Congress (TMC) had earlier stated that its MPs will desist from attending the Lok Sabha till Friday.
