Congress Accuses BJP of 'Diluting' Issues With 'Personal' Remarks

NEW DELHI: Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi on Wednesday accused the NDA Government of attempting to dilute the discussion on the Lalit-Gate by making personal remarks against party president Sonia Gandhi.

“After finally relenting under the pressure from the opposition, the Centre decided to discuss the (Lalit) Modi-Gate. But they got uncomfortable and began squirming after Kharge ji charged at them. It is customary of the BJP to make personal allegations and try to dilute the issue, this is a clear BJP tactic,” Gogoi told ANI here.

Gogoi accused the ruling government of being highly derogatory and hypocritical as they did not allow the opposition to speak freely in the House.

He also accused the BJP of insulting the dignity of the House as well as a woman.

Earlier today, a remark against her by a BJP member angered Sonia Gandhi who rushed into the well of the Lok Sabha along with her party members, protesting vigorously which forced the abrupt adjournment of the House for about an hour.
