Rahul's Difficulty is That He is 'An Expert Without Any Knowledge', Says Jaitley

NEW DELHI: Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday described Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi as ‘an expert without knowledge’ while rejecting all allegations levelled by him against the NDA Government.

“The difficulty with Mr. Rahul Gandhi is that he's an expert without any knowledge. Without an issue you (Congress) waste an entire session of Parliament..the real reason is that you ran a failed government and when things are looking up in India you want to sabotage the India growth story. Government rejects all the charges and the question of Sushma ji's resignation does not arise,” Jaitley firmly said while addressing the Lok Sabha this evening.

On Congress' allegations that Sushma Swaraj's daughter was a counsel for Lalit Modi, Jaitley said that Bansuri was one of nine junior counsels and had gone for a hearing in the Lalit Modi case under instructions from her senior.

”There are many people in this country whose children have to work for a living,” Jaitley said, adding that there are 'others' who have lived for generations without working. “They have learned the art of living comfortably without working, some of us have not,” he said.

Jaitley further insisted that the issue of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj’s resignation was a pretext for the Congress to oppose the GST Bill.

“My sympathies are with Sushma ji because she is a pretext, a scapegoat, the reason was that they wanted to prevent the GST,” he said.
