Five more students of the second year have been expelled from the hostel facility of the institute after charges of ragging against them were established by the institute's anti-ragging committee, which met today.
According to IIEST Dean of students' affairs Nitai Chandra Dey, all ten second year students were found guilty of ragging a first year student on August 2 and 4 last and the student had approached the authorities with his complaint.
"The anti-ragging committee of the institute has taken a stern decision so that students get the message very clear that ragging will not be tolerated in the campus at any cost," said Prof Dey.
