Three Men Attempt to Rape Minor Girl

ETAH: Three men allegedly attempted to rape a 15-year-old girl when she was returning from fields after answering the nature's call in Tamrora village in Kotwali Nayagaon, police said today.  

The incident occurred yesterday when the girl was returning from the fields and she was stopped by three accused, Ram Lakhan, Raghvendra and Ramkhilona, belonging to her village, who attempted to rape her, police said.          

When she resisted, the accused thrashed her. Meanwhile, the villagers reached the spot, and the accused escaped after threatening to kill her.    

An FIR was registered in the case yesterday after the SSP intervened. Investigations are underway  but no arrests have been made so far, police said.

In another incident, a 17-year-old girl was molested by a man yesterday when she was going answer the nature's call in the fields in Dunaiya village Kotwali Bagwala, police said.            

Man Pal, a resident of her village, started harrasing her on finding her alone but she resisted his attempts and the villagers reached the spot, they said.          

However, the accused managed to flee. A complaint has been registered by the girls father and an FIR under IPC Section 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) registered against Manpal, police said. No arrests have been made so far, they added.
