ETAH: Four inmates from Agra prison have been brought to district jail here for their safety, police said today.
"Shelendra Agrawal, a resident of Vibhav Nagar in Agra, had allegedly shiphoned off crores of rupees through transfer and posting business. He has about 36 forgery cases against him," Etah district prison Jailer P K Singh, said. The accused was brought here as his life was in danger in Agra prison. He was recently assaulted in the court premises by rival groups in Agra, Singh said.
The Agra Jailer said that three other prisoners Praveen, Chetan and Awnish have also been shifted to Etah jail. Shelendra, along with other two prisoners, reached here on Saturday, while Awanish was brought here on Friday.
