MUZAFFARNAGAR: The Uttar Pradesh State Advisory Board has confirmed detention of Bajran Dal district convener Vivek Premi under National Security Act (NSA).
Soni was arrested for allegedly beating up and parading a person for stealing a calf from a cowshed in Shamli district and the incident which had occurred in June had sparked tension in the area. Superintendent of Police Vijay Bhushan today said Premi's detention was confirmed by UP advisory board after hearing both sides.
Following confirmation, he can now be detained for a year, he added.
