'Stigma Fear Kept Rahul from Reporting Sheena's Disappearance'

MUMBAI:Investigators probing the sensational Sheena Bora murder case believe that it was the fear of “stigma” that prevented Indrani Mukerjea’s stepson Rahul from coming forward on Sheena’s mysterious disappearance. Rahul knew Indrani’s claim that Sheena had shifted to the US was false because Sheena’s passport was in his custody. He himself revealed it to the police during interrogation which led them to recover her passport from his house in Dehradun.

Sheena and Rahul were engaged in 2011 at his Dehradun house. His maternal family had found Sheena a charming woman. However, it is still not clear why she handed over her passport to him. Indrani’s son Mikhail claimed that she and her former husband Sanjeev Khanna had planned to kill him on the day Sheena was murdered. He told police that they had spiked his drinks at her residence but he managed to escape.
