BHAGALPUR: Union Minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy today criticised Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for coming up with a vision document for development in the state at the fag end of his term.
"It's surprising that Kumar, who has ruled Bihar for nearly ten years, has come up with a vision document at the end of his tenure... did he govern Bihar without any vision for all these years?" Union Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship said here.
The Chief Minister had recently, in a counter to the Prime Minister's package for Bihar, announced his own vision document of Rs. 2.70 lakh crore for the state in the event of being elected to power for another term.
Rubbishing Kumar's vision document, the Union Minister exuded confidence that Bihar would see a new high of development under the BJP-led NDA government after the Assembly polls, which would mark the end of "jungle raj."
"Bihar will see the new light of development and end of jungle raj after the Assembly polls," he claimed. Rudy also sought to downplay the 'Swabhiman rally' held by the Grand Secular Alliance in Patna yesterday saying the event was a "flop show."
Referring to RJD supremo Lalu Prasad call to the OBCs, Yadavs in particular, to rally behind the secular forces during the Bihar Assembly polls, he charged Prasad with reviving the caste politics in Bihar in place of development which should have been at the centre stage.
Lashing out at the RJD supremo for being the lead speaker at the rally, Rudy said democracy was reduced to a joke as a convict in the multi-crore fodder scam, who has been barred from contesting the polls, spoke along with Nitish Kumar and Congress president Sonia Gandhi.
He also trained his guns at the Chief Minister for his failure to utilise existing funds for development of Bihar and wondered as to how he would do justice with the PM's special package.
On Nitish Kumar describing the Prime Minister's special package for Bihar as "re-packaging of old schemes with only over Rs 10,000 crore being new ones," Rudy dared the former to refuge the package.
