Sartaj Aziz Fails to Satisfy Pakistan MPs on PM Modi's Visit

Sharif's adviser has not provided satisfactory info to opposition lawmakers with regard to Modi’s surprise visit to Pakistan.

KARACHI: Pakistan Prime Minister’s Advisor on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz, has not provided satisfactory information to the opposition lawmakers with regard to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s surprise visit to the nation.

According to The Express Tribune, Aziz was asked to brief the Senate on the recent visit of Prime Minister Modi but could not come up with any new information that prompted the opposition lawmakers to dismiss the government’s response as ‘unsatisfactory’.

Leader of Opposition Aitzaz Ahsan, who belongs to the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), said the information provided by Aziz was ‘bereft of details'.

Ahsan made it clear that the opposition considered Prime Minister Modi’s visit as a positive development and did not want to subvert it.

Aziz stressed that he had not concealed any details, urging the house to accept what he said in the briefing.
